An Exploration of

Perception

The Collective Mindset

A systematic problem originated from and is perpetuated by the individual. A system in essence is simply a collective of these individuals. Therefore, when an issue is escalated into a systematic problem and deemed insurmountable by the individual, we are deceiving ourselves. A systematic issue is always rooted in our flawed ways of dealing with the thoughts in our mind and interacting with the world around us. The collective is a reflection of the individual and the individual is embodied in the collective. Until we rectify our collective mindsets, the external world we perceive and create will remain dysfunctional because our internal state of reality defines what is projected externally. In essence, individual and systemic problems are inseparable; they are one and the same. It is simply a matter of redefinition.

On Perception

A Perpetual Rebirth

Is it not

Like life and death are entangled

in the perpetual act of marriage?

Death is the one we all gravitate towards in this life

But life is the one that permeates through

and transcends death

For death births life,

just as much as life offers itself to death.

The Creation of an Illusion

To respect someone

is to put them on a pedestal

That we are forced to look up at

Until they come to haunt us

in our waking dreams

To love someone

Until the point of inescapable desire,

and to be loved in the same capacity

Is to be chained

To the pitfalls of expectation

where the difference between expectation and reality

Becomes one’s misery

Love could be the most beautiful thing

If the mind and body were in sync

But in succumbing to the desires of one

We create dissonance in the mind

And so separation begins

Between what is needed to be free

And what is desired which can only entrap

Because we lost our ability to think

for ourselves

To the mindless movement

of a mass blind following

So we begin to lose our autonomy

And in so losing

We lost our freedom
